soldier on my shoulder
It’s a big day today, but I’m being terribly sluttish right now, sitting in my dressing gown drinking my morning tea still though it’s past noon. I’ve got the house to myself today for the first time in ages and I’m luxuriating in the decadence of it all.
So what are these thrilling events of which I spoke earlier, you may ask? Well, first off, my sweet babboo totally scooped a crazy awesome gig (thanks to M-C) with the Cirque du Soleil, so he’s got press passes and is hitting up the premeire this evening, with red carpet and backstage access and everything, generally being his usual jet-setting self. So that’ll be exciting, I can’t wait to see what he comes back with.
Then for me, tonight I’ll be doing something not quite so glamorous but still exciting - two of the 514’s most talented street artists, Roadsworth and Francisco G, are having a vernissage for their work at Blizzarts tonight, starting around half past seven. So I’m looking forward to that. (By the way, I have it from a reputable source that Roadsworth got off with a fine and a few hours of community service at his recent court appearance, so come out & celebrate & buy some art to help him pay the fine)
But thirdly, and most exciting of all, my gorgeous and brilliant cousin Madeleine is visiting from Cambridge, MA, where she’s going to school. I’ve not seen her in almost exactly 10 years, so I’m super looking forward to that - I’m just going to have to try not to feel too intimidated as she is extremely clever and accomplished and 18 months younger than I am.
In other news, Andrew sent me some samples from the shoot we did a couple of weeks ago. I’m not sure when we’ll get the chance to work on this project again but even the preliminary shots turned out very well I think. I have two more from this series on my flickr, click through the pic to see them all.
